Eden Tour

The Eden Tour is created to cater for the worldwide demand of Naturists/Nudists to enjoy some of the most picturesque places in South Africa. Hosting some of the best beaches and natural scenery in the world, this tour will take you to that and more. See the Big Five in the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa, visit spectacular beaches and stay at comfortable accommodation. This tour starts at the warm Indian Ocean coast of Natal and traverses to Cape Town, the world’s most fabulous city at the Atlantic Ocean.

   Itinerary:

Naturist activities are written in green.

Day 1: You will be picked up at the King Shaka International Airport in Durban between 8 am and 9 am or at your nearby hotel and we go straight to our first nudist beach. This is a nice quiet beach located at the north end of Umhlanga beach. We can walk from the main beach (probably 2-3km) or from the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve next to the Breakers Hotel. After spending some nude time and catch our initial tans, we travel north (3 hour drive) to St. Lucia a world heritage Unesco site. Here we stay at the Elephant Lake Hotel with spacious rooms, all standard with air conditioners (cooling only), wall safes, tea/coffee making facilities, 9 channel DSTV and en-suite with shower. You can choose one of the many nearby located cosy restaurants for dinner (not included).

Day 2: We get up early to start a full day safari at the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve, where 1,500 white rhino and 360 black rhino, buffalo, elephant, lion and leopard, blue wildebeest, zebra, giraffe water-buck, nyala, kudu, bushbuck, warthog, cheetah, hyena and 23,000 impala and 300 species of birds have been recorded. With 96000 hectares to explore we travel within the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa. The reserve is world renowned for its conservation of Black and White Rhino, just to imagine less than 120 years ago less than 100 Rhino’s existed world-wide. Today the reserve boasts hundreds of Black Rhino’s and of the largest population of White Rhino’s in the world. (Lunch include a Traditional South African Braai) After this Big 5 experience, we leave for the Elephant Lake Hotel, and discover some of the pristine and secluded beaches of the area. (L)

Day 3: After a scrumptious breakfast, we head back to the beach at the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve for more sun and fun on the beach. This can be combined with a visit to the Ushaka Marine World (optional). We head south to overnight at the Hooting Owl Guest House, a unique African Thatch Bush-Veld Lodge set in a coastal environment. This hidden jewel was custom-built to blend harmoniously into its surroundings. The Hooting Owl is located in Marina Beach, on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast, which can be booked as a clothing optional retreat for Naturist/Nudist groups. (B)

Day 4: Today we explore the spectacular Dolphin Coast and the Blue Flag Marina Beach which is one of the best beaches on the South Coast. We are approximately 5 km away from a "Nudist Friendly" beach at Mpenjati, south of Trafalgar which we visit for the largest part of the day for naturist fun and games. We also visit some of the local nearby attractions. Optional activities can include scuba diving at Aliwal Shoal, beach horse riding, quad biking, bird watching, game drives, adventure tours, cultural tours, fishing, whale watching, fine dining, and spa treatments and more. Overnight is at the Hooting Owl Guest House.

Day 5: We head back to Durban to get on a flight (not included) to Cape Town, and choose to book into either Cape Town Naturist Accommodation (for couples/families), or the Cactus House (gay). You are free to explore some of the interesting Cape Town attractions this afternoon and to get a taste of Cape Town’s famous nightlife.

Day 6: We have the entire day to bask on Africa’s most famous and best nudist beach: Sandy Bay. Hanging out on these shimmering white sands with spectacular mountain and ocean views is a breath-taking experience well worth the trek on a windless day. You can also explore more of the world famous attractions around the Cape Peninsula. Same accommodation for the remaining of the tour.

Day 7: From today we are connecting with the 3 day Cape Town Tour. You are free to do the activities you are interested in, or you can enjoy Sandy Bay. You will, however, stay at our nudist accommodation every night.

Going to the Nelson Mandela Gateway, V&A Waterfront at 08:00 am, we board for Robben Island. This must-see excursion takes about 4 hours and includes a ferry trip to the Island where you will be guided to see all the historical sites around the Island. We enjoy lunch and browse through the awesome shops before entering the Two Oceans Aquarium for a tour. After this, we visit the Bo-Kaap-Museum and walk the steep cobbled streets to view the Colourful houses. We choose one of the numerous restaurants in the vicinity to have dinner. (B)

Day 8: We leave for Cape Town's most famous icon: Table Mountain by the Aerial Cableway to take in the natural beauty and stunning views. The first botanical garden in the world to be established (in 1913) to protect local flora, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in the UNESCO-listed Cape Floral Kingdom follows. Lunch is at the famous Jonkershuis Cape Malay restaurant. Visiting Groot Constantia, we taste their export quality wines. We journey along the False Bay coastline to Kalk Bay harbour and stroll along the quaint cobbled streets. From here we pass Fish Hoek and Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town, home to one of the few land-based penguin colonies in the world.  Choose one of the popular restaurants in the area for dinner. (B).

Day 9: First visit is Cape Point, part of the Table Mountain National Park and home to an abundance of flora and fauna, and ascend the viewpoint with the Flying Dutchman Funicular. We visit Hout Bay harbor and Camps Bay African Craft Market on our way along the scenic Chapman’s Peak drive. Driving in the direction of Stellenbosch, we visit the Vergenoegd wine farm for some wine tasting. We go to the Spier Wine Farm for chocolate and wine tasting on the banks of the Spier dam.  Eagle Encounters is a raptor rescue, rehabilitation and conservation programme that is situated on the wine farm. See owls, eagles and vultures. Now we are off to see a bit of the real South Africa (optional). Select a restaurant where visitors can get an authentic African eating experience. Eat, drink and have fun with the locals! (B)
