Consumer Protection, Bonding and Guarantees.

Amatungulu Tours established a Bonding Scheme, which according to the South African Government Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 entails a consumer protection scheme to provide guarantees against deposits held, and therefor guaranteeing its quality assurance role. The act is based on fairness and equality for all consumers. In so doing, it provides consumers with a greater level of protection against providers of goods and services. Amatungulu (Pty) Ltd is a registered South African Company (2017/538010/07) and therefor bound to this Act.

This bonding guarantees consumers/clients that Amatungulu Tours is in a position to refund tour deposits, advance reservations, or bookings should you decide to cancel within the limitations set in the Terms and Conditions set out on the bottom of every page. Section 17 of the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 gives very clear guidance in the event of cancellation. Read the Act here.

The South African Tourism Act is closely linked to this, and parallel to the mission of Amatungulu, it:

“Provide for the development and promotion of sustainable tourism for the benefit of the Republic, its residents and its visitors; to provide for the continued existence of the South African Tourism Board; to provide for the establishment of the Tourism Grading Council; to regulate the tourist guide profession; to repeal certain laws; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

The objects of the Tourism Act are to-(a) promote the practicing of responsible tourism for the benefit of the Republic and for the enjoyment of all its residents and foreign visitors;

(b) provide for the effective domestic and international marketing of South Africa as a tourist destination;

(d) promote growth in and development of the tourism sector; and

(e) enhance cooperation and coordination between all spheres of government in developing and managing tourism.” These facts are all part of the vision Amatungulu strives to as a continuous process with its systems and business practices.

Deposits and flexible payment terms.

Amatungulu is offering you the option to pay a 40% deposit for a multi-day tour when you book prior than 60 days (8 weeks). We offer a safe and secure online booking system. Deposits can be paid via PayPal or PayFast with credit card or bank transfers during the booking process. If you are booking more than 90 days (12 weeks) in advance we offer flexible payment terms to make it easy on your budget. This assists as a way to pay the cost of your tour in installments.

Email info@amatungulu.com to request easy payment terms. The final payment however has to be made 45 days before the start of a tour. When making the deposit payment with you credit card, the final balance of payment will be automatically charged to your Credit Card or Paypal account on the due date.

Secure credit card and identity information.

The booking platform we are using is Rezgo, specifically designed, trusted and built for tour, activity, excursion, and event operators and integrated with top trusted travel brands. Rezgo is validated by the Trustwave certification authority (CA), a secure credit card and identity information engine:

Bank Transfer/EFT payment, or a card payment through PayPal (US$) and PayFast (ZAR).

Bank Transfer

Payment may be made via Bank Transfer in our business account as per your invoice. Electronic Fund Transfers may take between 2-3 working days to clear. When making a transfer please inform and instruct your bank that the invoice amount must equal the funds clearing into Amatungulu’s bank account and that all nominal bank charges are for your account. You can now also use the PayFast electronic funds transfer (EFT), which gets verified instantly. If you have been quoted in ZAR but would like to make payment in USD, for example, please let us know and we will convert your invoice with the current exchange rate to reflect the correct USD amount.
