Wine & Wild Luxury Tour

The Cape Winelands are a region close to Cape Town, boasting some of the most majestic scenery in South Africa and offers a beautiful landscape of wine hills and mountains. Cape Town, the “Mother City”, or the world’s most fabulous city, is the oldest city in South Africa and has a cultural heritage spanning more than 300 years.
Mont Rochelle is a stunning hotel and vineyard just under an hour’s drive from Cape Town in the town of Franschhoek, which is a traditional vineyard town in the Western Cape Province famously known as the French Corner of the Cape and is considered to be the food and wine capital of South Africa. “Welcome to Mont Rochelle in the Western Cape. This truly is one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa, a country I’ve been a regular visitor to for many years. During your time with us I hope you get the opportunity to try some of the fantastic wines produced in the region and experience some of the local hospitality - I always make a point of doing so!” SIR RICHARD BRANSON

Sabi Sands Game Reserve is located adjacent to and shares an open border with the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Some of the species roaming the reserve are the lion, elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. Collectively these animals are also known as the "Big Five". Other animals that roam this reserve are the cheetah, hippopotamus, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hyena, and Cape wild dog. The reserve shares thousands of different plant varieties and all animal species with the Kruger National Park.
Stay at the Ulusaba Rock Lodge in Sabi Sands Game Reserve, which is one of the lodges offering the most amazing views over the South African bushveld. Ulusaba Rock Lodge is situated on a hilltop offering uninterrupted panorama views. Be sure to enjoy an intimate experience. This luxurious safari lodge is distinctly African in style: traditional art and furnishings blend seamlessly with modern conveniences, ensuring maximum comfort. The main lodge is under thatch and boasts extensive viewing decks where guests can appreciate the vistas. Soak in the natural rock pool, in between game drives and bush walks, or enjoy a relaxing treatment in the luxurious spa.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Meet us at your centrally located hotel, or at the Nelson Mandela Gateway, V&A Waterfront from 08:00 am to board for Robben Island. This must-see excursion takes about 4 hours and includes a ferry trip to the Island where you will be guided to see all the historical sites around the Island. We enjoy lunch and browse through the awesome Waterfront shops. After this, we visit the Bo-Kaap-Museum and walk the steep cobbled streets to view the Colorful houses, formerly known as the Malay Quarter. We choose one of the numerous restaurants in the vicinity to have dinner, and overnight at The Table Bay Hotel, which offers the ultimate in 5-star luxury hotel accommodation in Cape Town. Considered to be the best address in Cape Town, this sophisticated property was opened in May 1997 by former South African president, Nelson Mandela. The Table Bay continues to set its own standards in international service, cuisine and luxury.
Day 2: You leave our hotel for Cape Town's most famous icon: Table Mountain by the Aerial Cableway to take in the natural beauty and stunning views. The first botanical garden in the world to be established (in 1913) to protect local flora, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in the UNESCO-listed Cape Floral Kingdom follows. Lunch is at Jonkershuis restaurant with its unique Cape Malay influenced dishes. You taste export quality wines at Groot Constantia, the oldest wine producing estate in South Africa, and with a rich history to explore. From here we go to Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town, home to one of the few land-based penguin colonies in the world. Choose one of the popular restaurants in the area for dinner. We overnight at Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard.
Day 3: Driving in the direction of Stellenbosch, we visit the La Motte Wine Estate, recognised internationally for exceptional quality wines. With its picturesque setting, traditional cuisine and historic charm, La Motte is an enchanting choice for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Enjoy an introduction to La Motte’s internationally acclaimed wine portfolio, produced to express distinctive varietal character in a style that is classic and elegant. Back at Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard where you overnight, you taste their award winning wines at one of their exciting locations like the restaurant, the bar, The Country Kitchen or wine cellar.
Day 4: A scrumptious breakfast follows a visit to Cape Point, part of the Table Mountain National Park and home to an abundance of flora and fauna, and you ascend the viewpoint with the Flying Dutchman Funicular. From here we make our way along the scenic Chapman’s Peak drive to the airport for the flight to Johannesburg where you stay at the Inter Continental Johannesburg at O.R. Tambo Airport for the night.
Day 5: You will begin the journey and drive through some of the most scenic areas of the Eastern part of South Africa. We visit the intriguing museums and shops in Pilgrim’s Rest and then to view Pinnacle Rock and to experience the amazing view from God’s Window (Wonder View). You visit the Berlin Falls, where numerous local arts and crafts are for sale. Day 6: We leave after breakfast to take a boat trip on the Blyde Dam. An interpretation tour will take us to the Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon. Completing this we head to Sabi Sands Game Reserve where you stay at the Ulusaba Rock Lodge for the following 3 nights. Here you will get that once-in-a-lifetime and unforgettable Africa safari experience.
Day 7: Early morning game drives in an open 4x4 vehicle are done every day. Knowledgeable rangers with a ton of experience and a genuine passion for South African flora and fauna will guide you during your safari adventure. The rangers will be in contact with each other to track wild animals. Besides morning safaris, afternoon safaris and guided bushwalks are on offer as an option. Enjoy South Africa's beautiful nature and discover the wildlife of the area. When not on exploration in the bush, you can relax a little at the swimming pool or in the spa. More active travellers can make use of the tennis court of gym, now that's what we call a special place to work out. You are also invited to visit the wine cellar or gaze at the stars in the bush observatory.
Day 8: Same as day 7. Have an optional game of golf at the Skukuza Golf Course, situated on the outskirts of Skukuza Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park. The rich wildlife sanctuary surrounding the golf course is home to the Big Five, a huge variety of birds and countless animals, which all conspire to provide the visitor with a harmonious close-to nature golfing experience.
